Population

So I always was freaked out by how many people there are in this world. It made me crazy. I seem only to know a handful in comparison to the total population.
Enter our trip to San Francisco to run the Bay to Breakers race on May 17, 2015.
There were about 30,000 people in this race and probably at least this many spectators.

Speed up to our departure from our hotel. We meet a gentleman in Cupertino, CA who's second cousin was a friend of mine when I was in grade school.

Then hop onto the plane ride home. Another connection. The guy sitting next to us. His place of employment was right next to our hotel while in CA.

Listening to these two guys and their similar shared experiences, their way of thinking, their kindness, it just left me more at ease with the multitude of people in our world.

All of us experience our life. I imagine there is more overlap than we'll ever know. There is a movie that made this concept famous, 6 degrees of separation.

I am now more content with our world's  population. I imagine you could sit down with anyone and have a shared experience some how, some way. I find that very comforting.
