Time to oneself

When you find yourself with time to yourself you make a list. Then you disregard everything on the list as you are just so happy to have time to yourself. You then fill your time with lunch dates, breakfast dates, walking dates. At some point you begin to realize that the time is running short to complete that list of 'to do's' that you have not even had a inkling of energy to spend time on. The energy to complete these tasks miraculously avails itself to you and everything on that dumb list you made gets in one day! I call that procrastinating. However I suppose if it were really procrastination it would not have been complete until Tuesday at noon. Whatever I will take it, floor is done, bathrooms are done, I even sewed the girls birthday towels while listening to a book on my phone. My lunches, breakfasts and walks were all nice however I think I may be close to being done with time to myself. It did make me wonder too how you ever are expected to continue when a spouse passes away. I do hope this will not be something that neither he nor I have to go through for quite some time. I imagine it would be pretty lonely and very hard.

I guess he too is ready to come home. Almost 33 years and we have grown pretty similar in our likes and dislikes. Safe travels my handsome Joe, I will see you Tuesday, woo hoo!

Population

So I always was freaked out by how many people there are in this world. It made me crazy. I seem only to know a handful in comparison to the total population.
Enter our trip to San Francisco to run the Bay to Breakers race on May 17, 2015.
There were about 30,000 people in this race and probably at least this many spectators.

Speed up to our departure from our hotel. We meet a gentleman in Cupertino, CA who's second cousin was a friend of mine when I was in grade school.

Then hop onto the plane ride home. Another connection. The guy sitting next to us. His place of employment was right next to our hotel while in CA.

Listening to these two guys and their similar shared experiences, their way of thinking, their kindness, it just left me more at ease with the multitude of people in our world.

All of us experience our life. I imagine there is more overlap than we'll ever know. There is a movie that made this concept famous, 6 degrees of separation.

I am now more content with our world's  population. I imagine you could sit down with anyone and have a shared experience some how, some way. I find that very comforting.

Missing Emilee

I find myself missing my friend. This was taken 2-5-15. She was a good dog. I guess you eventually get used to them being gone however I am not there yet. Em I hope you are at peace and playing with all your dog friends who have gone before you. Blessings and peace to you.

12-31-14

So it's the last day of 2014. I have so much to be thankful for! My husband, my children, my extended family and all the lovely relationships that go along with those.
What more could I ever wish for? I wish that those I know and care for have blessed lives, they know they are loved and thought of often, they find themselves feeling blessed and content with their lives and those they surround themselves with!

One smile!

This little one's smile is what I have been reminded of all day long! How thankful I am for a beautiful smile to remind me of my very wonderful life!

Morning

The sun is just coming up here while I sit outside with my blanket wrapped around me. There is a pink hue on the mountains to the west and the crickets are still chirping. Normally I would be running however lately if the mood doesn't strike I don't go. Oh I will still still either run or bike ride later but for the moment I amenjoying  'now'. The white cat on my lap doesn't hurt either.

Fall is coming and you can feel it in the air! This the time of year the chill begins to make an appearance. The Candian geese start to fly across the skies and the pumpkins ripen. It might be time finally for some baking!
